It's Scholarship Season! "With only one application and no FAFSA required, Arlington high school seniors have an opportunity to compete for over $600,000 in student aid through 75+ scholarships for the coming school year..." https://www.arlcf.org/scholarships/ The Arlington scholarships tend to be pretty straightforward to apply for, but you may find a few weird little requirements. They DO tend to be pretty niche criteria, but that may be just perfect for your particular niche! Also look out for scholarships offered via the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, the Community Foundation of Richmond (many of which cover all of Virginia) and other regions in your area of residence.

A university recently sent me an update about their new application process. Instead of requiring interviews and teacher recommendations, they're now requiring that you participate in a mock class and then write a 150 word reflection on the experience. What do you think of this change? Is successful participation in a mock class more indicative of potential success at the university level.
