100 College Students
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation believes that data is a major part of the solution to the American higher education crisis, as much as it is for the global health crisis. One of their projects researched the diversity of American higher education enrollment and produced this lovely graphic.
Their research has determined that the costs and hurdles of access to higher education will mean that an increasingly smaller portion of Americans will have the kind of training and education they need to do the jobs that will be required in the coming decades. They work to change that statistic by changing the landscape of the applications, enrollment and financial aid process, as well as through pedagogical innovation.
Their podcast, “To A Degree,” is a fascinating look at the diverse stories of students in America today, their challenges and their successes, as well as profiles of the colleges that are trying to change the way American higher education does enrollment management and access.
